How QTPD works
QTPD (Quality Time Per Dollar) ranks Steam games by how many hours of well-reviewed play each dollar buys. A long, well-reviewed game at a low price scores high; a short or poorly reviewed game at full price scores low. It ranks thousands of Steam games and is free to use, with no account.

The formula
Example: a game that takes 20 hours to play through, has a 90% positive review score and costs $10 scores 20 × 0.90 ÷ 10 = 1.8. The same game at $5 in a sale scores 3.6. Higher means more quality time per dollar.
Where each number comes from
- Length is the hours it takes to play a game through, story plus some side content. It is estimated from how long the Steam reviewers who recommend the game actually played it, calibrated per genre against HowLongToBeat and refit every week. Games with few reviews lean on their genre's typical length, and no game is counted above 420 hours, so idle games and endless sandboxes cannot run away with the ranking.
- Review score is the game's all-time Steam review score: the share of reviews that are positive.
- Price is the current Steam US store price in US dollars. By default the score uses the sale price when a game is discounted; a switch in the filters scores it on the full price instead.
Prices, sales, review scores, length and tags are collected from Steam and refreshed automatically, so the ranking follows each sale as it starts and ends.
What gets left out
- Free games have no price to divide by, so they get no QTPD score. Filter to free games only and the list ranks them by length × review score instead.
- Games with fewer than 3 recommending reviews have no score: there is not enough playtime to estimate a length from.
- By default the list starts at 100+ reviews and hides adult-only games. Both are filters you can change.
Using it
Start from one of the ready-made shelves, such as Half off or better, or set your own filters: price range, minimum discount, review score, length, tags, Steam Deck support and more. Every filter is saved in the page address, so a view can be bookmarked or shared. Search a title to see any game's score, or use Find similar to rank games like one you already enjoyed.
